国見ささら

Kunimi Sasara, dance and music

　国見ささらは、江戸時代から続いていたが、一度廃れてしまったため明治22年に白岩（現仙北市）の「堂ノ口ささら」を取り入れて再興した。二頭の雄獅子と一頭の雌獅子で構成され、仮面をつけるザッツァカが「ささら」を摺り鳴らして獅子と絡んで舞うのが特徴。7月20日頃の獅子飾りから始まりお盆には集落内の墓地や八幡神社で神立（かんだち）や眠り（ネマリ）を舞う。昭和39年に県指定無形民俗文化財の指定を受けている。

Kunimi Sasara, dance and music had started during the Edo period. It was once deteriorated, but in 1889 people revived it by adding the taste of Tsuji-no-Guchi Sasara in Shiraiwa area, current Senboku city. In Kunimi Sasara, two male lions and a female one dance with Zattsuaka who wear masks and play Sasara; a kind of musical instrument. Around the 20th of July, it starts with lion dance and during Obon season, around the middle of August, people play Kandachi and Nemari in graveyards in the area and Yahata shrine. Kunimi Sasara was designated as an intangible folk cultural asset in 1964 by Akita prefecture.
